To discuss priority programs and activities for the coming year, the Batangas Province Tripartite Industrial Peace Council conducted its 2023 Strategic Planning activity at Ka Sebbyas Restaurant, Gulod Labac, Batangas City, on November 10.
In her opening remarks, DOLE CALABARZON Batangas Provincial Office Director Predelma Tan shared her appreciation for the council’s continued support and efforts in maintaining industrial peace in the province.
During the discussion proper with the members of the executive board, the council agreed to hold meetings every two months starting next year.
DOLE Batangas Provincial Director Predelma Tan and Ms. Cristina Barayang, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of DOLE BPO with the member of the executive board of the Batangas Province Tripartite Industrial Peace Council during its 2023 Strategic Planning activity held at Ka Sebbyas Restaurant, Gulod Labac, Batangas City, on November 10.
For Mr. Ruel Punzalan, Vice Chairman for Labor of BPTIPC, these consistent schedules of meetings of the tripartite council aim to address pressing matters and other relevant worker or management-related concerns.
“Mahalaga kasi ang pagpapatuloy ng industrial peace sa ating lalawigan ng Batangas. Naniniwala kasi tayo na kung meron tayong patuloy na pag-uusap, yung labor, yung employees, at the same time, yung government, magkakaroon tayo ng industrial peace sa lalawigan ng Batangas. Napapag-usapan ang mga dapat na gawin at kung may mga problemang nare-raise, agaran na nabibigyan ng solusyon,” Mr. Punzalan said.
Furthermore, for Ms. Madonna Dio, Vice Chairwoman for Management of BPTIPC, these meetings will help them monitor updates about their target for the year.
“Importante na nagme-meet hindi man monthly or every the other month para ma-maintain ang open line of communication at tsaka ‘yung updates sa mga nangyayari. Halimbawa sa DOLE, na-uupdate kami sa mga issuances and at the same time, namomonitor namin kung ‘yung mga pinag-usapan sa mga previous meetings ay nagagawa namin ‘yung aming mga action plan kung nasaan na kami doon sa aming activities,” Ms. Dio emphasized.
Aside from these meetings, the council will also hold a fund-raising activity called Zumba for a Cause, tentatively scheduled for summer for the benefit of individuals to be determined by the DOLE Batangas Provincial Office.
Additionally, next year, the council plans to conduct learning sessions about recent government issuances concerning the management and labor sectors.
Meanwhile, to consolidate a comprehensive report of the accomplishments of the council, the board also agreed to relaunch their newsletter which will cover the events from January to December 2023.
BPTIPC aims to foster relationships between labor, management, and government representatives and at the same time, encourage participation in labor standard compliance of member companies.
