With the goal of forming, enhancing, and restoring business enterprises of establishments not employing more than 10 workers, the Department of Labor and Employability IV-A - Batangas Provincial Office facilitated the provision of livelihood packages for 18 Technical and Advisory Visit beneficiaries during a release at Lipa City, Batangas, January 17.
In her message during the awarding ceremony, DOLE IV-A Batangas Provincial Office Director, Predelma Tan, expressed her gratitude to the recipients and emphasized the significance of the program.
"Patuloy po kaming nagpapasalamat sa walang tigil na pagtangkilik nyo sa aming programa. Kaya sana po ay magtuloy tuloy talaga at makita namin na sabay sabay kayo umasenso at nawa’y itong natanggap nyo ay maging malaking tulong talaga lalo na sa pamilya nyo," Director Tan uttered.
One of the attendees of the orientation under the Technical and Advisory Visit Program and now a DILP beneficiary, Ms. Aileen Austria, a stall owner at the Lipa City public market, shared how the DOLE orientation and seminar taught valuable lessons on managing her business, working with people, and understanding the benefits available to workers.
"Nakaattend kami ng seminar dahil ang DOLE ang lumapit sa amin pati yung mga kasamahan din namin sa palengke...[Natutunan ko] yung sa mga management, yung sa mga tauhan [ko] yung [kanilang] mga benepisyo," Ms. Austria shared.
Ms. Austria also expressed surprise and gratitude for receiving the assistance and discussed how it would enhance the existing business.
"Hindi naman namin ine-expect na mabigyan ng mga ganito, natutuwa kami dahil ito talaga yung kailangan namin... Iyong luma kong makina pwede ko ng palitan ng bago kaya mas makakatulong ito, mas bago mas mabilis.. Hopefully magamit ko pa ito sa mga kliyente ko na nag papatahi sa akin para mas maganda yung production kasi nga mas bago at mas less ang maintenance kasi brand new ang binigay sa akin ng DOLE," Ms. Austria remarked.
On the same day the DILP Team, alongside the Provincial Director Tan, unveiled a series of livelihood packages aimed at empowering individuals through its industry partner- Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas. The distribution of the NegoKart packages to (5) five beneficiaries exemplifies a dedicated effort to promote sustainable livelihoods and economic growth within the community. This initiative is a testament to the department’s commitment to providing prompt and efficient services to all.
The department aims to continue empowering microbusiness owners through its programs, providing tools and resources to strengthen businesses, employment, and compliance, while creating lasting opportunities for their families and communities.
