BATANGUEÑO PERFORMERS BAG OVERALL TITLES IN DOLE IV-A’s 2024 TALENTADONG MANGGAGAWA

With their captivating performances, the official delegates of Batangas Province dominated the stage after bagging the overall champion awards during the DOLE IV-A-initiated Talentadong Manggagawa 2024 held at Calamba City, Laguna, on May 1.

A group named Batanguenong Maligalig Dance Troupe from Pilipinas Kyohritsu, Inc. danced their way to the championship title after gracefully showcasing their talent featuring the Kapeng Barako product of Batangas, TUPAD Program of DOLE, and tripartism.

According to Mr. Fabian Bien Dimaculangan, the President of the PKI Employees Welfare Union, the management and the labor sector fully supported the performers by providing a venue for their practice, costumes, and overtime pay during rehearsals.

“Yung mga participants, kapag nagpa-practice after ng work, or bago mag-trabaho ay charged to overtime. And then yung actual competition ay official business, so with pay sila doon,” he reiterated.

The performers of PKI are currently employed as quality assurance and production operators who are also passionate about expressing themselves through the art of dancing.

“Masayang masaya kami dahil nai-showcase ‘yung iba pang kagalingan ng mga mangaggawa rito sa aming lugar. Nawa ay magsilbing inspirasyon din sila sa iba pang kasamang manggagawa,” he remarked.

For the individual category, Ms. Leilani Salazar of J.G. Summit Olefins Corporation captured the audience's hearts with her winning rendition of Lipad ng Pangarap.

In addition to the champions, Batangueño performer from Pilipinas Kyohritsu, Inc., won as the third runner-up in the individual category. At the same time, the SIDC Dance Group of the Soro Soro Ibaba Dev't Corporation placed second runner-up for the group category.

Batangas Provincial Focal Person for Labor Relations, Ms. Cristina Barayang, shared that the efforts of management, labor, and the government sector of the Batangas Province Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (BPTIPC) became the keys to producing the winning entries.

“Truly, the dedication to foster camaraderie since day one [including the] series of practice, pre-screening up to the grand finals fuels the collective efforts of labor and management that made the  Council's delegates win,” Ms. Barayang stated.

During the awarding, Batangas Provincial Director, Predelma Tan expressed her warm congratulations to all the winners.

The Talentadong Manggagawa 2024 is a way for the Regional Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (RTIPC) and the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office IV-A to highlight the capabilities of workers outside their workplace just in time for the celebration of Labor Day.
