The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Batangas Provincial Office Labor Relations Unit in partnership with the Batangas Province Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (BPTIPC) conducted a one-day seminar for the contractors and subcontractors held at the office training center, Lipa City on May 28.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Cristina Barayang, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of DOLE Batangas emphasized the importance of the activity which aimed to disseminate information on related labor and employment topics including labor standards, employees’ compensation when work-related injuries happened, and other legislations.
Ms. Ann Jelyn Natividad, Senior Labor and Employment Officer shed light on the salient features of the law concerning the Employees Compensation Commission and their jurisdiction.
Aside from those matters, the DOLE representatives also presented Department Order No. 174-17 and Department Order No. 147-15.
Furthermore, different government agencies, including the Bureau of Internal Revenue and Social Security System, participated in the said event.
Through this kind of initiative, the BPTIPC and the DOLE hope to further promote labor compliance which can in turn preserve the industrial peace in all workplaces.
