For Mr. Owel Marasigan, Manager of a beach resort in San Juan, Batangas, parallel to the topnotch customer service and provision of renowned leisure facilities, preserving a decent working condition in their resort is also their priority.

In connection with this, after receiving an invitation for a Technical and Advisory Visit their resort management was among the more than 30 companies that eagerly signed up and participated in a session held at their Municipal Hall, San Juan, Batangas.

“This is the first time that I attended yung initiatives na kagaya nito. For me, mas malakas yung magiging impact namin sa part ng resort na mas maunawaan pa namin ‘yung mga obligations namin with regards to our staff,” Mr. Marasigan remarked.

He also commended the DOLE representatives who also interactively answered their queries related to policies and issuances on General Labor Standards and Occupational Safety and Health.

“We are very thankful na ang DOLE ay nagkakaroon ng mga ganitong initatives for us, specifically sa resort para mas ma-broaden pa ‘yung kaalaman namin when it comes with the policies of the DOLE,” he uttered.

Ms. Mirasol Celemin, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of the Department of Labor and Employment IV-A Batangas Provincial Office, shed light on the aforementioned topics. She emphasized the importance of compliance with labor laws as it is the mandate of the Department to ensure full protection of workers and the management sectors.

To date, DOLE has conducted Technical and Advisory Visits to thousands of micro, small, and medium enterprises intending to support entrepreneurs in learning labor laws and issuances and eventually assist them in complying with the standards set by the rules.
