A total of 1,328 beneficiaries under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Displaced at Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) underwent an orientation held at Agoncillo, Batangas, on June 26.
According to Ms. Salvacion Kalalo, TUPAD Focal Person of DOLE Batangas Provincial Office, 989 beneficiaries from Agoncillo, Batangas, and 339 residents of its neighboring municipality, San Nicolas, Batangas attended the said activity.

To effectively implement the program, TUPAD Coordinators of DOLE spearheaded the discussions on the role and responsibilities of every beneficiary during the duration of the program.
Furthermore, the coordinators reiterated the task of the TUPAD beneficiaries which involves a ten-day community service, four hours a day with a salary of P520.00.

In order to formalize the work agreement, every beneficiary signed their contracts and turned over the necessary pertinent documents to the Department representatives. Meanwhile, they also received a set of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a TUPAD Shirt and Boonie Hat, which they will use as they render physical work under broad daylight.
