DOLE BATANGAS ENFORCES AID FOR 4,022 TUPAD BENEFICIARIES IN BALAYAN

A total of 4,022 beneficiaries under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Displaced at Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) received their salaries during a remittance center payout caravan held at Balayan, Batangas, on October 10.


For Ms. Josefina De Guzman, a solo parent of three children, although temporary means, becoming one of the 4,022 beneficiaries will help their family make ends meet especially for the educational needs of her children.

“Malaking bagay po ito para sa puhunan ko po…Sa DOLE po, maraming maraming salamat po. Napakalaking tulong po nito para sa pamilya ko,” Ms. De Guzman remarked.


With utmost gratitude, 44-year-old Ms. Marian Butiong also expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the Department in providing an alternative source of income for a self-employed individual like her.

“Maraming maraming salamat pong muli sa DOLE at itong binigay nyang tulong sa amin ay malaking tulong po para maging simula ng puhunan ko at makakatulong din sa pag-aaral ng aking pinapaaral.” Butiong uttered.

The TUPAD is a way for the government to support Filipinos in the vulnerable sector by providing emergency employment.

Aside from their salaries, the beneficiaries also received a one-year GSIS personal accident insurance which aims for stronger social protection for unknown and contingent events.
