Women’s Month celebration came early for the 21 members of the women’s association in Laurel, Batangas as they received their much-deserved negokarts under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) during the turnover program, February 13.
According to DOLE IV-A - Batangas Director Predelma M. Tan, the twenty-one (21) units of negokarts were awarded to twenty-one (21) women from various barangays of Laurel to empower more communities.

In her message, she emphasized the continuous collaboration of different government offices in making these programs possible. Furthermore, Director Tan reiterated the post-implementation monitoring of the DOLE in ensuring the impact of Nego-Kart Project.
For Ms. Felicisima Paz of Barangay Bugaan East, one of the beneficiaries, her negokart business will provide additional income for the educational needs of her child, and for the maintenance of his husband.
Ms. Paz, a vendor of various goods received her well-deserved negokart.
“Ako ay maraming alam na hanapbuhay. Kung ano ang mabenta, kung ano ang in-demand, siya kong ilalagay [sa negokart] para magamit ko nang maayos. Maraming maraming salamat sa DOLE at sana ay marami pa silang matulungan,” Ms. Felicisima remarked.
The business starter kit includes a cart, gas stove, gas tank, cooking utensils, and initial supplies of frozen food such as kikiam, fishball, and potato fries.
Ms. Salvacion Kalalo, DILP Focal Person and Ms. Rozil Regodos, Livelihood Development Specialist,, facilitated the turnover of the packages to the beneficiaries.
Aside from the DOLE personnel, Batangas 3rd District Representative, Congresswoman Maria Theresa Collantes, and Laurel Mayor Lyndon Bruce were present during the event.
